Hi, I have upgraded from 7.4.3 to 9.5.3... and now I run into a lot of Format errors...

Kernel error: 0x93505. Format error: "nb_NO Error: U_UNSUPPORTED_ERROR" .

I get this all the time...

A simple : FORMAT('1234.34', '###.#'). gives this error, why....

I have moved to a server in Amazon, (Stockholm).

Hi Helge,

Yes, looks like it is broken again, not sure how.

A workaround is to put the correct library manually:
1. Stop VServer_x64 service
2. Download library
https://www.dropbox.com/s/id0dtygnpx8facu/icudt58.dll.zip?dl=0
3. Unzip to c:\Program Files\Paradigma Software\VServer x64\
4. Start VServer_x64 service

Doing the same sql that my app is sending to the server I get:

Kernel error: 0x93505. Format error: "nb_NO Error: U_UNSUPPORTED_ERROR" .

removing all format from that SQL all is fine...

So the FORMAT command is still making trouble.

Thank you, we reproduced this issue, the problem is that icudt58.dll library used for formatting was broken during saving to the installer.
The next build will fix this issue.

I have checked with local server at 9.5.3, on mac. That works.

Same command on my windows server at amazon, gives error...

What do I have to look out for on my server? is the locale mismatched or something else,,, I have tried to use both English and Norwegian as language, but still the same error.

What could be wrong ?

This is from ICU -
U_UNSUPPORTED_ERROR = 16, /**< Requested operation not supported in current context */

Checking it on Mac, vStudio, v.9.6 - no problems. And there is no visible changes in this area in 9.3, 9.5...

Old mac server at 7.4.3 works nice.

Amazon, windows, server at 9.3.1 worked nice.

Amazon, windows, server at 9.5.3 DOES NOT.

I tried this as well: SELECT FORMAT(123456.123456, '###.##')

still problem. Doing it on a older server works well though.

Perhaps 9.5 is stricter and accept only number for the FORMAT function ?
Try

FORMAT(1234.34, '###.#')
