Our team uses Valentina Studio to enter, edit, and view experiments. We love how flexible it is and enjoy using it.

Recently there has been a change to how the columns in a table view are sized, perhaps from a recent update (currently using 10.1)? Our main form looks different than it did before. It has table views that previously showed all the columns without needing to extend the width of the form or the table view. We can't extend the size without changing the whole form up as some users have small monitors, and it would be ideal to maintain the current form.

Pictures are attached of two table views: Plates and Strains. The settings for a table view and the actual corresponding table are both shown.
For the Plates table view, three settings are shown: (1) no fields set to 'stretch', (2) all fields set to 'stretch', and (3) just the plate name field set to 'stretch'.

We had previously used setting (3) as the plate name can be quite long. The non-stretched columns seemed to be as wide as they needed, but not wider or equal in width. There was no bottom scroll bar. Now, having everything equal in width by default is tricky when there are more than a few fields and certain fields have wider records. It seems like setting fields to 'stretch' now still ensures they are wide enough to show the full record, but it doesn't shrink other records to make the view fit a single box. We want to avoid using the bottom scroll bar to see all the records as it makes it challenging for users to validate experiments.

A Strains table view image and a Strains settings image are attached for reference. This is similar to what all the table views all looked like beforehand. Because the records in each column for Strains are not very wide, the equal column widths are not an issue. I can see how this new default is useful in general, but could there be a way to alter these settings similar to include an option for how they were before?
