Good day!
I decided to connect to my test MS SQL server 2005 standard edition + WSUS all updates. The client connects, in all modes of authentication. Shows the list of databases. But when you try to open the environment, the application crashes.
I can provide any additional information if needed. Or are you not already supporting 2005?

I just want to add to this thread that on many occasions connecting to a MS SQL database makes appear application look hanging (unresponsive). Eventually it all comes back but it takes time. Our MS SQL instances have many databases tables and views (often going in few hundreds). It seems to me that Valentina tries to cache every object it sees on the remote database thus giving the appearance of freezing. Just my two cents.

In the same time VStudio team try implement reading of objects in lazy way.
May be exists yet some places to improve.

Hello Dmitry,

Can't reproduce it yet.

The crash happens when you double-click any database to open it, right?
What is the OS where the SQL Server is running?

Good day.
A failure occurs when you try to open a connection.
Server Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition x86 RU.
Client Windows 7 Pro x64 RU.
SQL server available for customers.
where to look for a dump I can not figure out. The debugger is talking about accessing an invalid memory area. :(

Hello Dmitry,

You mentioned the list of databases was shown? I'm asking because I found an issue with Cyrillic characters in database names - not a crash, but an error. The list of databases is shown, but such database can't be opened.
Could you please try to connect to the database with another name?

Is it production server? Maybe there some way to create a test user and a database (where the problem is reproducible) and give us an access?

Good day.
I think that you are right. problem in Cyrillic. I connected to the server using the "master" database. I see the list of bases. Unfortunately, you can not access the database. I will help.
I sent a dump.

Hello Dmitry,

Yes, thank you, reproduced but not completely.
The crash must be related to the name issue(added to mantis).
So we'll fix it and the crash should have gone.
